The very fact that ANYONE is coming to my blog from a dofollow list means their comment will be unceremoniously deleted. I blog to entertain and I want genuine comments. I don’t care if you “make it sound good.” Way to waste your effort!

If someone is smart enough to see WHY you are even on their blog in the first place (to get Google juice), then they would be right in blowing your comments right out of the water.

I’m so disgusted with this practice.

Recently bought a link on a blog with the intent of getting some anchor text. The blog was having TLA links so I thought would directly go through the blog rather than TLA. It seems the link was eventually placed as a re-direct and not like the other TLA links. I guess, will have to be careful in future for what I should expect

Well it depends on which side of the fence you’re on. Just as people can be dishonest in nature they can be honest as well. It starts with the character of a person as a child that will translate into an adult with those same qualities.

Blogger blogs can remove the nofollow attribute from the name field by editing their template. They can’t as far as I know remove the attribute from links within the body of the comment.

Yeah, I usually check the source code just to see whether or not it’s truly dofollowed, just for my own satisfaction of knowing. Also, I can’t remember what it’s called, but I know there is a Firefox plugin out there that you can use that will automatically highlight no-follow links on webpages.

I’ve been questioning this as well. It really isnt fair if people say their blog is dofollow, when in fact it isnt. I’ll dl that extension and rat these ppl out!

I stopped by your blog to take a look to see whether or not your Blogger comment links were do follow or not.

I hate to be the one to tell you, but SEO Firefox is showing those links as “nofollow”. Looks like they’re a Blogger redirect. The actual links may be do-follow, but if the redirect link from Blogger is “nofollow” first, Gbot won’t follow the redirect to get to the link.

Thanks for commenting. I certainly understand where you’re coming from. But my point was/and is, many bloggers are advertising that they are do follow when they’re not.

As for the short comments with keywords in the name field, such as the ones you see above, this isn’t a do follow blog and all my comment links have the “nofollow” tag attached. So they aren’t getting any juice at all…not even a dribble!

This very post is agreat example of why I no longer support the do follow movement. Look at all the losers in this post with usernames like “Fix Your Credit” and “Make Money Online”. These people in this very post didn’t even bother to make relevent comments. They just typed a few random words, got their Google love and split. This is what my entertainment blog and so many other blogs had to deal with and that is why many have backed out of this movement. Just another great thing the spammers killed.

I’m sure there are some do-follow directories, but I use a program called CommentKahuna and a free search engine called Commenthunt.com

You’ll be able to find many do-follow blogs with both of these.
