Affiliate Programs

There are many ways to make money online without a website. This is just one technique that I stumbled on. You see, I’m never content with the same old-same old. I “experiment” (and I use that word loosely) with different ways to make money. Some of them turn out disastrous while others prove to be nice surprises.

The inspiration for this method came one day when I asked myself “Self, I wonder what would happen if I created a product page from a big Merchant with one item on it and threw a bunch of relevant anchor text links at it?” To which myself replied “Well Don, I don’t know. Everyone knows what American Idol is unless they’ve been living under a rock the last 7 years. I don’t particularly care for the show but do catch it a few times when my Wife is watching it. I always look at these so called reality shows and see what life’s little lessons can be learned from them.

The news started circulating last week about Linens N Things financial trouble and possibly filing for Bankruptcy protection.

I know some of you are Linen N Things affiliates and you can do whatever you want. However, if I were a Linens N Things affiliate, I’d certainly be thinking about how much money they owed me and how many affiliate links I have pointing toward their store.

For any of you who have been affiliates when a business went bankrupt, you know what I’m talking about. Try losing several thousand dollars worth of commissions when a company goes bankrupt and it doesn’t take long for you to become gun shy when a company starts talking bankruptcy!

Affliate Programs and Other Profitable Misspellings 

This morning I was reviewing my logs as I do each week to see how people are finding AffiliateWatcher.Com when I kept noticing something strange. I then went to my Googl Webmaster account and checked over the last months analitics to verify what I was seeing on my logs.

I’m ranking pretty high in the Goggle SERPS for the term affliate programs.  Yes, affliate program is misspelled, it should be affiliate programs.

In the last month, the terms affliate program, affliate programs and top affliate program has accounted for over 2000 visits.

If you haven’t read Part 1 where I reviewed the Build A Niche Store (or BANS for short) ebay affiliate program, go ahead and read it.
