Affiliate Programs

The news started circulating last week about Linens N Things financial trouble and possibly filing for Bankruptcy protection.

I know some of you are Linen N Things affiliates and you can do whatever you want. However, if I were a Linens N Things affiliate, I’d certainly be thinking about how much money they owed me and how many affiliate links I have pointing toward their store.

I worry about my money anytime a merchant is having financial trouble. Makes you wonder why they can’t learn to do basic budgeting and watch their cost, not to mention finding out where all their money is going.

Affliate Programs and Other Profitable Misspellings 

This morning I was reviewing my logs as I do each week to see how people are finding AffiliateWatcher.Com when I kept noticing something strange. I then went to my Googl Webmaster account and checked over the last months analitics to verify what I was seeing on my logs.

I’m ranking pretty high in the Goggle SERPS for the term affliate programs.  Yes, affliate program is misspelled, it should be affiliate programs.

In the last month, the terms affliate program, affliate programs and top affliate program has accounted for over 2000 visits.

If you haven’t read Part 1 where I reviewed the Build A Niche Store (or BANS for short) ebay affiliate program, go ahead and read it. This series reviews two programs I use to make money with the CJ Network and the Ebay Affiliate Program. I use the BANS program for building new stand alone websites or making over existing websites. UPDATE: I can no longer recommend the Build A Niche Store Program now that Google has DeIndexed many BANS Sites. Most of mine were also deindexed. It seems the problem lies with Google not liking the fact that the BANS program is a script that makes websites by auto generating web pages with affiliate links on them.

However, all of my BANS sites are still ranked in Yahoo and Bing.

Anyone who’s read this blog long enough knows I think good ebooks are worth the money you pay for them. I know a lot of people scoff at eBooks saying “You can find all that info on the Internet for free.” Which, in most cases you can. The question then becomes one of “How much freakin’ time do you have to hunt down all this information?”

Good eBooks put all the information in one spot for you to easily find and work with. This saves you a lot of time. Time you could be using to make money on the internet instead of searching for answers on how to do it. Time is money with affiliate marketing!

I never gave this much thought because I guess it comes as second nature to me. However, I get quite a few emails about “Which affiliate program to choose” or “What’s the best affiliate program to choose.”

I’ll give you my method for choosing an affiliate program. This method has worked for me for years.

First let me start off by saying pick an affiliate program that interest you. I know it’s an old cliche but it happens to be one that is very true. Even if you’re not very knowledgeable about something a company sells, you can still be successful if you’re passionate about it! This is probably one of the biggest reasons people fail in affiliate marketing!
