Wow, it doesn’t seem like this is my 100th post, but my WordPress Dashboard says it’s so. I’ve learned quite a bit over the last 8 months of blogging here. I had several months of little to no posting back in the Spring when my Mom was sick but other than that, I try to turn out 3 to 5 quality post per week.
I’d like to thank everyone who’s stopped by and participated in this blog. I have some exciting and fun things planned for the future and I hope you come along for the ride.

Chances are we all want more traffic to our blog. I never hear anyone say “Geez, I don’t need anymore traffic, I have all I need now.” One way to increase traffic to your blog is to ping notification services like PingOMatic.
PingOMatic is the default pinging service used with WordPress. It’s suppose to notify all the other major pinging services but I have my doubts about that. Since I added more pinging services to this blog, my traffic has increased. This tells me that PingOMatic is not hitting all the pinging services it should.

It’s taken me a while to implement formatting of my articles on this blog. But since I’ve really been trying, my readership has grown as has my page views.
I’m still amazed at the bloggers who have a huge lump of text in thier post. I’ve even seen the whole post be one giant 600 word block. Even I couldn’t read through it all without wishing it would end.
Formatting your blog and making it user friendly includes using paragraphs and sectioning. Remember, most blog readers are skimmers. They’ll skim right over most of your text.

Well, I tried. I really liked using the DoFollow plugin and giving my Commenters links back to their site without the “nofollow” attribute. However, as I feared, there are those who try and take advantage of this by spamming my comments.
I spent another 45 minutes last night sifting through my comments and removing spam comments. Many of these were people who commented with a legitimate comment the first time, then after they were accepted, followed those up with spam comments with links going to spam sites.
So, as of this morning, I’m turning the DoFollow plugin.

It seems like only a month ago I was tell you how I broke into Technorati’s Top 10k. Well, sometime last weekend, this site busted into the Technorati Top 5k! (oh wait, it was just over a month ago…lol)
Ever since I posted that news, it seems like I’ve just creeped toward the Top 5k. Now, my new goal of course will be to make it under the top 2500 in Technorati.
FYI: Technorati and Alexa ranking are used by some companies to help decide how much to pay for links and sponsored post.

Well, I’m back from my week long week off. I hated to come back, but all good things must come to an end I suppose.
While I was gone, I did manage to make a few post, but the last few days, there was none to post. This was partly by design and partly because I didn’t save enough articles before I left.
When leaving for an extended period of time, I believe it’s never a good idea to let your blog sit idol.
Here are a few tips for the Vacationing blogger:
