Yahoo Answers Update

August 8th, 2007 · Comments Off

Last week I told you how I had been using Yahoo Answers to drive traffic to some of my sites. I want to give you an update on how this one method of traffic generation is coming along.

I have to say, I’ve been quite pleased with the traffic from Yahoo Answers. Linda, over at 5 star affiliate programs had voiced concerns about how time consuming it seemed. Well, at first I was spending about an hour a day. Now, I spend between 15 and 30 minutes about every other day answering questions.  I just log on in the mornings, search through my niche and start laying down answers. About every 5th answer or so, I find a question where a link to one of my websites would be helpful and I leave it laying.

Yahoo Answers – Drive Targeted Traffic To Your Site

July 30th, 2007 · 10 Comments

yahoo answersI’ve resisted trying Yahoo Answers for some time now. However, the last two weeks I decided to play around with Yahoo Answers to see if it was a viable option to drive traffic to my websites. web contentAs someone who has more than a few websites, I’m always on the lookout for web content. Not just any web content, but web site content I feel good about puting on the Internet. It’s not as easy as it sounds.

Right now in my files, I have over 20,000 PLR articles. I’ve been a “member” of most PLR sites that give you PLR articles every month plus I’ve bought PLR artciles off of Webmaster Forums. That being said, I’ve only used about 15 of those articles, not 15k, but 15. Of those, I’ve had to modify everyone in order to get them Internet ready. This is one reason I no longer buy PLR articles! By the time I “modify” the damn things enough to make them unique and presentable to one of my sites, I could have written the article myself! Which leads me to believe….

Kijiji (eBay) vs Craigslist – Can eBay KO Craigslist For Free Online Classified Ads?

July 7th, 2007 · 4 Comments

free online classifieds kijiji craigslist

Craigslist finally has a challenger in the free online classified ad market and their name is eBay. eBay is making a move for the free online classified ad market by bringing out their new free local online classified site called Kijiji.

The question is, can this new young gun from eBay KO the old Champ Craigslist?

Maybe, maybe not.

One thing that eBay will have to deal with is the loyal following that Craigslist has built up over the years. Apparently eBay thinks it has the size and skill to take out, or at the very least, fight Craigslist to a draw with its traffic. This remains to be seen.
