Yeah, you guessed it, more troubles with my Embarq DSL service. I know you’re probably getting tired of hearing about my troubles with Embarq and their quality of service, but I hope to keep someone else from making the same mistake as I have (moving into a home with no choice of local phone or Internet service) and to show those new to their own business’s of ‘How Not To Run A Business’!
About 1 p.m. today, I started getting intermittent Internet service. So once again, I called Embarq (I now have their phone number memorized) and sit on hold forever. It’s funny working your way through the prompts. Near the end, the automated voice will tell you there is not a need to talk to a Technician because I can go online at embarq.com and handle all my technical problems! Really! Of course, if I could get and stay online, I wouldn’t be having to listen to this stupid automated voice in the first place!
So now they’re telling me that they have “upgraded” the service in my area and that it is the lines running to my home that is causing the problems. I asked today’s Techie if that was true, how was it that the Techie yesterday was able to fix it? He stuttered and didn’t have an answer.
They’re sending out a technician (so they say) on Saturday afternoon to check the lines. This sounds a little fishy to me because they have never, ever, came out on the Weekends!
I’m betting they’ll call and cancel or have some other excuse for not showing up. Meanwhile, it may take me forever to post this blog post!

Thats pretty bad when they know you the sound of your voice and you dont have to give them your phone number..pathetic! They sent us different modems ..didnt help one bit! Then they said there is a port problem we are on and they fixed it..well duh if you fixed it why does it go off all the time and stay off til I call your stupid asses! MMMM HELLO just fix it! Im getting so sick of there lack of service Im about to cancel with them and switch to a cable internet service…I will pay more but always have my internet on line!
Cause I need a constant connection to the Net cause I go to Online College…so yah it sucks half the time!!

all networks have issues…no exceptions. All one can do is debate the time to fix and how often. So, on the first part, deal with it. On the second, you apparently have no real fact or data, just alot of “feel” about it. A super fantastical network and service costs big bucks. You gripe about wanting it but would never want to pay for it—so shut up and watch the movie.

So what you’re saying is that Embarq doesn’t have super fantastical network and service? It sounds that way to me, I guess you’re making excuses for them.
From what I’m hearing, you’re suggesting I go with another provider. Trust me, if I could, I would a long time ago!
As for how much networks and service cost, that’s why we get a monthly bill…duh. If Embarq cannot price their services so they can make a profit and still have a “fantastical” network, then that’s their problem. They shouldn’t take it out on their customers.
As for the service, it cost nothing to be polite and just do the job you were hired to do. As a customer service tech, you wages are also tied into my bill!
No hurry back to work, you’re fixig to miss the Embarq employee movie of the Month!

Like many other things made today, I believe their modems have a limited life. I’ve had several myself. I feel your pain!
I do have to say, (knocking on wood), that it’s been about 2 months now since I’ve had a problem with them (it was down for about 6 hours one evening, but it came back up by the time I woke up).
