I agree on the social media point. A few weeks ago I had an article pull in several thousand visitors from Reddit and my while my previous Click through rate was around 5%, when Reddit visitors came I only had 3 clicks out of over 5000 people who visited my site. While the exposure and the traffic was nice, it did me little good in terms of monetization.

“Your blog or website should cover one subject”
When you do this you also have the possibility to get a domain name with your subject in it. That should optimize your ranking in google much more than the now so widespread Search engine optimized paths after the real domain name

Hey Coach,

There are many techniques to make money with Adsense. But the most important in my opinion is traffic and ad placement.

I could go into a long rant about where to put Adsense blocks for them to be the most effective and I could tell you all you need to know about where to get backlinks.

But the easiest way is to send you to Griz’s site where he as several AdSense tutorials. Anything you want to learn about AdSense and getting backlinks, you can find on Griz’s site about making money online.

By the way, just FYI, I use several techniques for backlinks. I write a lot of articles and submit them at Ezinearticles, GoArticles and I use Article Marketer. I also have many other blogs I can count on for links plus I make pages at Hubpages and Squidoo. Heck, I’ve heard that some some people even buy links for increased PR

You really do need links coming from all over the place to look natural. Never rely on links from one source.

Thanks for the advice. I get a good amount of traffic from social sites and have not been paid well through adsense. This is the first time I have seen someone explain it for me. Thank you.

I do have a question. I have a few sites that I have been working on and have just started (within about 6 months). How do you get good backlinks to a new site to increase the PR and increase the organic searches?

Greg, filling up a page with Adsense blocks may increase ctr (not by much if at all), but it will also reduce your price per click. The top adblocks nearly always pay more per click than lower adblocks or adlinks. That’s why I generally only have two adblocks on my Adsense sites. One 336x at the top and one tower in the sidebar. Your best converting ads will show up in those blocks.

I do well with adsense and I have a new blog that gets very little traffic compared to well established blogs. Try using the max allowed ads and link boxes to have a high CTR.
