Donovan from BlogThatOutside has tagged me on “The Face Behind The Blog” meme. We have David Airey to thank for starting this evil idea!
I must say, this is my first meme and apparently the whole point of this meme to to garner more details about myself. Hmmm….this blog is about marketing and the Internet, not about me!!
Okay, I’ll play along, but I warn ya’ll, I’m going to tag 5 other bloggers who’s blogs I read and want to learn more about them.
I’m just a Big Ol’ Texan who enjoys his Family and playing outdoors when I’m not working….which is quite a bit. I own a construction consulting business that I run out of my home and I have some websites/blogs that provide just a “wee bit O’ coin change” on the side.
I’m a pretty easy going guy I think. You’ve heard the saying, “Don’t sweat the small stuff. It’s all small stuff“, that’s me. I love to go down to the Beach house for a long weekend a couple times a hear and just chill out on the deck with a couple cold ones watching the World go by. When I get serious about my free time, I take a few days off and hit the Beach for Bull Redfish and Sharks. (catch & release only)
I’ve had several “jobs” in my life, I’ve worked in the oilfield when I was in my teens into my early twenties, worked in a factory that made wire products like large anchoring cables, drove a truck for a major auto parts corporation and I delivered horse trailers for two large manufacturers.
During all those times, I always had a small cash business going on the side. I love Entrepreneuring.
Every since I was a kid, I’ve loved making money on my own. It’s not about the “stuff” money buys that drives me. To me, money is like a score keeper in the game of entrepreneurship. It’s the challenge of creating a business from nothing and growing it that motivates me. On the other hand, I could also be perfectly happy living on the Beach or in middle of Alaska without a penny to my name. I like wide open spaces with just a little hint of danger mixed in. I’ve always felt like I would have liked to have been a Mountain Man or Pirate ‘back in the day’.
I believe being an entrepreneur allows one’s soul to be free. At least that’s the way it works for me. I’ve had ”bosses” and I can do without them. To me, bosses are like politicians. The know less than I do but act like they know everything. Being an entrepreneur gives me the kind of freedom I need to thrive as a person.
I’ve been messing around with making money on the Internet a little over ten years now. Oh how I wish I knew then what I know now!
My Family brings me the most joy in my life. None of what I do would be worth a pile of cow chips if it wasn’t for them.
Okay, that’s about all I’m willing to tell…LOL…which was way more than I had planned!
Now, the 5 people who’d I’d like to learn more about are:
- Derrich @ Derrich.Com
- Andreas Moser @ Linkrain
- Courtney Tuttle @ CourtneyTuttle.com
- Chris Hoyt @ ChrisHoyt.Com
- Sassy @ The Sassy Southerner

Dang Don! I like your style! I think we could solve most of the the worlds problems after a few cold ones on the deck of that beach house! When are you heading down there again?
Seriously…It’s nice to know some background on the person “behind the blog”.
I gotta get working on my tag now.
Chris

Thanks for participating, Don. I could certainly take a lesson from you to not sweat the small stuff.
That’s a nice fish you caught there. We don’t grow them like that here in Oklahoma.
