Yo Dawg, Check it Out. 5 Lessons Affiliate Marketers Can Learn From American Idol.

  1. No matter how bad things seem, continue to persevere. American Idol Asia’h Epperson had every right to bow out of the competition when her father died two days before she was to audition. But Asia’h Epperson didn’t go back home. She staid put and won a trip to Hollywood.

When It Rains, It Pours!

April 19th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Well, thanks to everyone who has sent emails wondering where I’ve been. There’s been a lot of speculation. Some of you thought I was gone for good, some thought I had met an untimely end, some thought I sold out while others were just wondering. I can say that the stories of my demise are greatly exaggerated!

For those who’ve followed my blog for any length of time, you’ll remember that my Mother passed away in Dec. Since that time I’ve been trying to get her home and other affairs in order, which means a 500+ mile one way trip every time I went up there. I’ve been there more than here the last few months. I thought I had just about got everything in order too.

Turn Affiliate Datafeeds Into $ Dollars $

February 21st, 2008 · 13 Comments

affiliate datafeedsI get emails all the time asking me how to take advantage of affiliate datafeeds that are put out by merchants. To be honest, how I use the datafeeds depends on my website and the merchant. I will tell you that I use a wide variety of programs and services when I use datafeeds. I’m just not comfortable with one program or service, probably due to all the different niches I’m in.

Are the crazies running Ezinearticles now?

Here lately, I’ve had nearly every article that I’ve submitted to ezinearticles flagged for one reason or another. Now I’ve been a member of Chris Knight’s ezinearticles for several years. He’s helped me make some pretty good bank during that time with article marketing.

But lately, I don’t know if he has some new editors or just a renegade editor on his hands. The funny thing is, when I resubmitted the articles with few if any changes, they were accepted.

On one article, it was declined for the reason of “Keyword stuffing!” Me, keyword stuff? How dare they!

9 Low Cost Ways To Promote Your Site

October 1st, 2007 · 1 Comment

Blog and Website owners are always looking for effective ways to drive quality traffic to their sites. For some, this can be a hair pulling effort. For others, it seems no matter what they try, traffic comes rolling in.

Here are 9 Low Cost Ways to Drive Traffic To Your Site

  1. Pay-Per-Click Programs - You should try Adwords and other Pay-Per-Click programs such as Yahoo Publisher Network and Microsoft AdCenter, only if you have a good understanding of how PPC programs work. Newbies should not dive into PPC unless you have a large budget.  A better way to use Adwords would be to use the site targeted feature of Adwords and choose sites that are relevant to yours. Site targeted Adwords are charged on a CPM (cost per thousand impressions) basis rather than a per-click basis.
