meme tag It seems that Miss Sassy at TheSassySoutherner has tagged me with the meme of “8 Things That You Didn’t Know About Me”. Okay Sassy, I’m game.

Here is how this thing works:

# * Each players starts with eight random facts or habits about themselves.

To answer a question that Sassy had posted earlier in the week, Yes I do watch “Man vs Wild”. I think Bear Grylls is a softie, it’s the cameramen who are following him around who are the real HeMen! (for all I know, it could be Camera Women!)
I like Snow. Lots of it. I love being out in the woods when it snows. Everything is so peaceful.
I once dated a married woman. She was 21, I was 18. We met through her Sister who was dating a friend at the time. She gave me the “We’re separated but getting a divorce” story. It seems everyone but me noticed that she still wore her wedding ring on her left hand, even my parents noticed when we met them one evening for dinner! Afterwards, my dad who is an ex Marine D.I., gave me the “Boy! Are you F’n stupid?” “You’re thinking with your little head, not your big head” lecture and used a couple slaps up side the head during the lecture to make sure the lesson sunk in. It did. My dad has a way of painting a picture with words. The lesson learned served me well throughout my single years….rings on left hand bad…steer clear of women with rings on left hand….the bigger the ring on left hand, the bigger the troubles….women with rings on left hand bad, bad, bad! Everytime I would even look at a married women, I could feel my dad slapping me and a little voice going off in my head “Danger Will Robinson, Danger!”
I’m not a NASCAR fan. There, I’ve said it. However, I do love to go watch Stock Car racing at the local oval dirt tracks. That’s real racing. Everyone should go once just to experience it.
On my next vacation, I’m planning on going to the Midwest to chase Tornados. I’ve had a couple close run in’s with them before, including the F3 that killed 8 people in Morris OK, in 1984 and the 1996 Tornado that hit Fort Smith and Van Buren AR. Still, they fascinate the hell out of me and I’d like to get close to one for some good photo’s.
I like original episodes of The Twilight Zone. I have the box sets to prove it! I absolutely love “It’s A Wonderful Life”. Never saw it until I was 35. Now I have the B&W version on DVD. I’d never think about watching it any other way!
I like mowing my own grass. It’s “quiet time” for me. I get a lot of thinking and planning done while mowing and when I’m done, it’s done the way I want it done!
I cried when Ole Yeller died.

Okay, now for the fun part. According to the rules, I have to pick 8 other people. Hmmm, let’s see who I can tag with this one…

Don, great list. I laughed so hard at number 3. And I have to agree with you on number 1. I wonder how the camera men/women do it holding their cameras.

I did get tagged with this meme about a month ago. And unfortunately, I think I shared more than most readers wanted to know about my weird self at that time. But I appreciate the tag, nonetheless. I didn’t discover It’s a Wonderful Life until I was into my thirties also. But it’s one of my very favorite movies, never fails to make me cry.

I often wonder if they don’t air lift some of those camera people in and out. It must be a huge job of filming those episodes!

Hey David,

I can not replicate that problem. I’ve commented on several computers and the all work fine plus I’m still getting comments. I’m not sure what’s going on.

I also haven’t fixed the problem with the email to the 1st time commenter. It may be my plugin.

No, I wasn’t married at the time, she was. To be honest, I don’t think she ever left her husband, at least not anytime soon. I stopped messing around with her after my Dad and I had our “little talk”
