Hi Andrew,

Thanks for stopping by. I've eyed AssociatedContent for quite awhile and have wanted to sign up as an affiiate for quite a while, but have always put it off. I'll get over there one day and sign up.

As for writing, I don't have time, even though I think it would be great to do. I'm not near as good as writer as I'd like to be, my grammar and English leaves a little to be desired. LOL (or so I'm told ;) )

Hey Donovan,

Sorry, I missed your comment the first time around but found it when cleaning up my comments (another story).

I'm not aware of any place for content providers that offer a ranking system. I know Digital Point has an iTrader ranking with is kinda like the feedback system on eBay.

I'm wary of most feedbacks anyway. You always have to take them with a grain of salt. It's best to start out slow with any new content provider and never give them all the money up front on large jobs.

Don,

The corollary to the the economics you present is that quality content is actually a much a better value proposition for the *advertisers* who are paying for those CPC ads in the first place. If you are a real estate agent, why pay a fixed CPM or CPC for traffic you will see once, when you can have targeted, custom created articles or videos that will continue to generate traffic and pay dividends over time. Sites like "Will it blend" show that the content doesn't have to be staid or merely informative to perform well.

Disclaimer and Plug: I work for Associated Content (www.associatedcontent.com); we have over 70,000 content producers, so we are able to source excellent writers on many different topics for third parties. We typically focus on providing the content directly to the manufacturer or retailer. While our content is priced even higher than the rates you quote, it quickly becomes a far better value proposition for our customers than advertising.
Typically we will only look at companies who need at least 250 pieces of content. If you are interested in working with AC, you can contact me at aboer at associatedcontent.com .

Hey Rob, don't sweat it. It's a PR5 site that's 6 years old and it's in the real estate sector. Let me just put it this way, home builders and real estate agents spend huge $$ on Adwords in big markets to get noticed :) .

The main is always in the top 3 SERPS and many of the interior pages rank high as well. I just wish the niche was wider than one city..lol

Two sentences REALLY caught my attention...how are generating an average of $50/month from a site that gets less than 3000 visits a month from AdSense? That probably equates to an eCPM of nearly $19! I'm constantly hovering in the $0.40 range....

Great article, Don! This is something I've been thinking about for my new blog because I just don't have the time to write quality 1000 word articles every single day.

Are you aware of any content provider sites that have ranking systems like rentacoder.com or similar?
