What’s Up With Ezinearticles?

January 18th, 2008 · 16 Comments

Are the crazies running Ezinearticles now?

Here lately, I’ve had nearly every article that I’ve submitted to ezinearticles flagged for one reason or another. Now I’ve been a member of Chris Knight’s ezinearticles for several years. He’s helped me make some pretty good bank during that time with article marketing.

But lately, I don’t know if he has some new editors or just a renegade editor on his hands. The funny thing is, when I resubmitted the articles with few if any changes, they were accepted.

On one article, it was declined for the reason of “Keyword stuffing!” Me, keyword stuff? How dare they!

I looked the article over again and decided it didn’t have enough keywordsso I added two more and bolded a few others, then resubmitted it. It was accepted. Hmmmm…

The next article a few days later was  declined because of: “Self Promotion - News article/press release…we do not accept news articles or press releases”

WTF? I thought “Self Promotion” was what article marketing was all about!

Besides, if you’d read the article then you would know it certainly wasn’t a News Article or Press release. It was a review.

So, I bolded a few sentences and corrected a few misspellings and resubmitted it.

Accepted this time, no problem.

Is Ezinearticles Using Ex-Overture Editors?

This reminds me of the early years of Overture. You’d submit some keywords for their reviews and they would accept or deny them. I remember once when I was helping a friend promote his Pest Control business. I compiled a keyword list of terms that were relevant for his business. Most of the terms had to do with his city and the word “Pest Control.”

The first time I submitted them, Overture denied them saying “Keywords were not relevant to the website”

WTF?

I wrote the editor back and asked how in the hell “{Friends City} Pest Control was not relevant to a web site about my friends Pest Control business in {Friends City}”

The ads were approved pretty quickly.

I had other ads/keyword combinations denied with Overture. I learned pretty quickly that you just resubmitted them until they ran across an editors screen who would approve them. Nothing to it.

The thing with Ezinearticles is that it’s damn annoying to have someone deny good articles written to promote a website. That’s the whole basis of Chris’s site. Yet, someplace around the Ezinearticle compound we have an Editor who clearly does not get it! (it almost makes me think he’s sub’ing this work out to countries where English is the 2nd language)

At first, I thought I may have been the only one with this problem. But then I saw this blog where the Arthor was having the same problems with Ezinearticles as I was. That makes me feel better. For a while, I thought Chris may have been picking on just me!

I’ve never had these problems with GoArticles. In fact, they approved the same ads as Ezinearticles denied. I’m sure it must be a phase they’re going through, I just hope Chris get’s it straightened out quickly.

Has anyone else had a problem with getting their articles approved at Ezinearticles?

Wow, I was just railing over this problem in my head! I have this one article that hasn’t been approved after 4 resubmits, because it supposedly contains or links to pornographic material.

But I submitted an article a few weeks before with similar keywords and the EXACT same links, and it was approved just fine. I’m about to wash my hands of ezinearticles.

Having strict guidelines is one thing but rejecting and article only to accept it without any modifications at a later point is something I simply can’t understand.

I dono, I added one article there recently without problems. But I haven’t got any link in narticle body. maybe because of that?

I am having the same problem with two of my articles. I keep getting them back for edits due to:

…You are not permitted to use a certain word or phrase excessively. You are also not permitted to use excessive bold font in order to highlight a certain word or phrase.

So I’ve edited them both to the point where they are almost irrelevant for my key phrase! They are both solid articles that are well written, but apparently I’m using the word “the” or “it” or “is” too many times… geez.

[...] When you get the top A-listers in the Blogging community to hype your product, don’t piss them off a few weeks later by banning their blogs or declining their blogs inclusion into the BlogRush program. Apparently many A-listers and large blogs were banned or had their accounts put into an inactive state. It seems that the editorial staff over at BlogRush didn’t know a good blog when they saw one and sent out a lot of these type of emails. Hey, perhaps it’s the same editorial staff at ezinearticles??? [...] Blog Networks - I’ve never used Blog Networks, but I know a few site owners who swear by the traffic from Blog Networks like Blog Explosion, Blog Advance, Blog Soldiers and the new Blog Rush. With these networks, you get credits for sending traffic to other Network members sites. In many cases, you can also purchase credits at a reasonable rate. In turn, you use these credits to “buy” impressions back to your site. As good as that sounds, I still bring in more traffic with article marketing and ezinearticles. [...]

I have had similar problems and it irks the hell out of me. They must have some computer system knocking out articles? I must have hit their “red flag” system. I was so pissed the other day I cannot tell you, but I am over it now. I shot back and email, telling them so. I wrote some very good time sensitive articles, that kept getting rejected for no real reason. I want some answers I am not happy.

I haven’t had any problems like this. I’ve written 11 or 12 articles, and think it works well. Maybe you’re overusing the site?

  • 11 Lance Winslow // Apr 19, 2008 at 10:58 pm

Maybe, I am over-using that site, with 13,000 articles I have posted. But the site has 90,000 plus online article writers and 1,000,000 articles? The service has gone down too, it takes way too long to get the articles approved. I think they need some well capitalized competition.

Yes I agree they keep flagging me as well. I have a website that reviews sites then there are some affiliate links. But I don’t put a direct affiliate link in there, and they still flag it, I guess they want to control how you make money now too.

I was shocked to see a posting with Lance Winslow, he is the god of Ezine Articles.

Ezine Articles Editors annoy me like hell. Yeah, if they pick on you, they’ll keep trying to find fault with you, while next door, so many spammy articles are being approved like no tommorow.

It’s all about the editor. Chris Knight is not the one approving articles, not with the thousands they get everyday.

It’s the bitchy editors they hired. That’s the problem.

  • 14 Radhe // Jul 7, 2008 at 2:04 pm

Its just that you have to write good articles. If you think you can write a 250 word article with 5 links in you bio, then you have a problem. Get real people in the 3rd world speak better English than most people in your so called 1st world.

  • 15 John // Oct 26, 2008 at 6:36 pm

We always act like people owe us something. My articles have been rejected by Ezine also, SO WHAT! Chris Knight happens to own one of the top ranking sites around and he can decide how he wants the content. We know if we post an article in his article directory, we are almost sure to rank on the first or second page of Google for a certain amount of time. I bet none of you have ever wrote to Chris Knight and thanked him for making you money.

I’ve just submitted my first article. I thought the self promotion was lmited to the resource box. Lets hope I don’t get rejected, because it may be my first and last then.
