Nice simple article. Some blogs are pretty much unfriendly to newbie bloggers. Keyword anchors definately work.

I agree that keyword-rich anchor text is the way to go and, personally, I usually link to other stories using their title, which, in most cases, contains keywords (most bloggers out there are aware as to the importance of having keywords in your title).
